Sexy in Cerulean III - New Release - Limited Edition Fine Art Print
This 36" x 72" Original oil painting of red poppies is being released as a limited edition fine art print in varying sizes on paper and canvas. I have been painting poppies for years and this is the first of my poppies to be available in full scale reproduction, meaning that you can get the image as big as the original at a much more accessible price. All of the stretched canvas editions are hand embellished, signed and numbered by the artist. For more details, go to Sexy in Cerulean III on my website.

September Zinnias - "installed"
Just received this photo from the homeowner. I wish you could see the entire house. It is adorable. The owners have lovingly updated it all the way through and this family room at the back of the house was the last piece of the overall project. I told my client I thought the painting looked both luxe and whimsical hanging there. She was looking for a pop of color to punctuate the room and I think she did a great job sourcing it! Thank you Patty (and Damian) for appreciating my work!

Luscious Landscapes!
This commission was inspired by an earlier work Poppy Patch at the Farm. The flowers are all things that bloom in my garden in June. The collector and I both grew up in rural southeast Michigan and have a similar fondness of pastoral midwest farms and gardens.
I liked working this subject in the large horizontal format(24" x 48") so well that it inspired a second piece:
Called Purple Barn, also 24" x 48" which I will be showing this weekend at the Levis Commons Fine Art Fair in Perrysburg, OH just southwest of Toledo. It is supposed to be a beautiful weekend; so stop on by. My booth is #97 located right in front of Arhaus furniture.
Both pieces were painted with a palette knife and have wonderful decadent amounts of oil paint creating lots of surface interest and richness. See the close up below:

New Website is Up!
New Kim Rhoney Website
The new site went up this weekend and I am very happy with it! The thumbnails for each painting load super quick and you can see all the thumbnails for each category without scrolling! Aslo, I added a new section to the "Artwork" called "Available Paintings" so that it is easier to see which paintings have not yet found a home!
This piece is traveling to NYC with me in a couple of weeks. It reminds me of a suite of velvet furniture that my family had back in the seventies!

My Gorgeous Girls II
My Gorgeous Girls II - 4' x 3'
This painting was inspired by a row of sunflowers that I grew in the vegetable garden. Sunflowers are a constant theme in my work as I have as much fun painting the fabulous foliage as I do portraying the iconic sunflower heads. This piece is traveling to the Art Expo New York with me in March.
