Show Opening - Pfizer R & D Corporate Gallery
This is such a lovely venue for my work! Lots of natural light supplemented with Halogen spots. There are 15 pieces hanging in this show. Check out my website if you would like to see them all. Now it's time to get back to the easel! I keep thinking that I will start working small with my daily painter buddies; but the paintings in my head keep coming out onto big supports! The little ones always lead me to develop the subject into a bigger presentation. So you may not see me posting as often as those working smaller; but know that I am painting and do visit often or better yet subscribe to my blog and every new painting will be emailed to you as soon as it is posted.

A Thoughtful Moment
4 x 5 feet, oil on gallery wrapped canvas
Just completed the finishing touches on this big one. I hope you enjoy looking at this piece as much as I did painting it. My 16 month old is particularly fond of it. She calls my flowers "Wow-wuz". Maybe I should think about renaming this one...... "Wow-wuz"!

My Gorgeous Girls
4 x 3 feet, oil on gallery wrapped canvas
If you wonder why I haven't posted in a while it isn't because I traveled over Thanksgiving; I have had this piece going for a couple of weeks now. This is another for my sunflower series. The foliage is getting more interesting to me as I explore the subject of sunflowers. I now know why the masters painted so many of these beauties as they are very challenging and gratifying when you capture bits of their majesty. This piece is fairly loosely painted relying on a deep plum under-painting to add depth and character to the subject.

Moonlit Sunflower III
11 x 14 inches, oil on gallery wrapped canvas
This is the last of three for the moonlit sunflower studies. Actually, they look quite nice in a group. I think I will work on the Sunflower I a bit more and display them together as a montage. They are screaming for big gilded frames.......but that will have to wait for now. I hope you enjoy them. I have had a lot of fun working on them and have fallen in love with the consistency of my new Graham's paint....like butter!

Moonlit Sunflower I
11 x 14 inches, oil on gallery wrapped canvas
I planted giant sunflower seeds randomly throughout my perennial gardens this year and have taken 100's of photos of these gorgious girls in all various stages of sun and moon light. You will see many more of these beauties as I work on studies for a large 4' x 5' piece.
